Chevy SS
My story begins as they all do with the promises, trials and tribulations
of a dealer and manufacturer. Then you drive that new gem off the lot and
lose 35% of its value and every problem that does not kill you is “your
problem”. I bought a NEW Chevrolet 1500 SS. I have 5 recordable issues in
the first 4 months of which 3 are unresolved. We are on the third trip to
the shop with no end in site. The issues range from a rear passenger door
that is out of square to the frame causing one hell of a noise and
squeaking (stupid me for closing on the truck before it was fixed) through
the engine and up to a yet to be determined “whine” from under the dash
the emits a burn wire smell. That makes me feel good about taking the kids
along. Hell, they have replaced many parts on the HVAC already. I
requested a definitive answer that the truck was safe from my dealer in
Denton Texas. The manager would not do that. This truck is new and only 4
MONTHS OLD!!!!! The Denton Texas dealer was so nice to offer me $13,000
LESS than what I paid for it if I wanted to trade it in!!!! Just shoot me
comes to mind. My quest goes on. I did find help if your in the state of
Texas from Tex DOT. There is a lemon law in Texas and they were very nice
to help me. My advise to you, save your self from the pain and
frustration. My Chevy Sucks!!!!
Soon I was to find out why Chevy named the truck the "SS" due to its
ability to surpass the "P.O.S" status to the "P.O.SS".
